It's time to kick the tires on Haiku again! There have been several releases since the last time I looked.
Unfortunately I am looking at this at a bad time; Beta 4 has been out for a long time, but the Haiku folks are working on the next release and have disabled some things, so a few of the new features I wanted to show off won't actually work. Oh well.
There has been a fair amount of backend work that I can't capture in these screenshots, so I am focusing merely on the visible things. If you want a comprehensive list of changes, you can see the release notes for every prior release, and this one.

The Haiku installer now basically behaves like a more modern Linux distribution does, asking you either to install or try. Otherwise it's basically unchanged.

The Haiku splash screen is also unchanged.

A look at the default desktop. Most importantly, even in today's world it is devoid of Artificial Idiocy, and any kind of advertising!

The about dialog hasn't really changed either.

Other than some minor cosmetic changes the Deskbar hasn't changed much either. |
