Haiku Beta 5 is now out (well, as of September 2024 anyway) and includes the latest round of bug fixes and feature improvements to the former BeOS operating system. Compared with the last release there are not too many earth shattering changes but there is still a major step towards a full final 1.0 release. The release notes if you want to read them are here.

Haiku's file manager, Tracker, has seen some improvements. In particular, read-only folders are now displayed with a greyed-out background, and writing options in the menus are disabled instead of giving error messages. |
